Subjects: English Writing includes Intermediate level, advanced level, and Shakespeare's Writing.
Carol Walshe
Hello, I am a teacher with many years of experience teaching all aspects of English from basic Reading and other aspects of literacy to advanced Grammar, Rhetoric, and Writing. With a background in Literature and Historical Linguistics, I give students at any level a deeper understanding of the vocabulary and structure of the English language. I create original exercises designed to provide students with the focused practice they need to improve specific skills. In addition to a deliberate emphasis on building proficiency, my lessons are also made to inform students on a variety of topics. I am keenly aware of the academic importance of broad general knowledge. Excellent writers have excellent general knowledge, so every lesson I present, at any level, expands student knowledge in some field of inquiry. Students will leave each class with some new understanding of a topic from the Humanities, or from the Arts or from the world of Science and Mathematics. I can say with confidence that my students have the opportunity to become better readers and writers, and to become more knowledgeable about their world.
